How to Verify Research Peptide Purity

“Purity” only means something if someone independent measured it and you can check the result. This guide explains what third-party testing is, why it matters more than any claim on a product page, and the concrete red flags that separate a verifiable supplier from an unverifiable one.
What “third-party testing” means
Third-party (independent) testing is analysis performed by a laboratory that is not the seller. The distinction matters because a vendor grading its own material has an obvious conflict of interest. When an independent lab such as Janoshik runs the assay, the result does not depend on the seller's word — and, crucially, it can be confirmed with the lab directly.
Why independent HPLC matters
Peptide purity varies batch to batch: synthesis, workup, and storage all affect the final material. A single old certificate cannot vouch for a lot made months later. Independent HPLC, runwhere tested, measures the actual material being sold rather than a representative ideal. Two things make a purity figure trustworthy:
- Independence — a named outside lab performed the test, not the vendor.
- Verifiability — the report carries a key you can confirm at the issuing lab, so the number isn't just a picture on a page.

Red flags of an unverifiable supplier
Any one of these should lower your confidence; several together are a clear warning:

| COA image that doesn't match the batch | A generic or mismatched certificate doesn't represent the specific lot. |

- Find the certificate of analysis for the exact product and batch.
- Confirm it names an independent lab and a method (HPLC for identity and purity).
