Supplier closure

Science.bio shut down: what researchers should check in a replacement supplier (2026)

Short answer

Science.bio has stopped selling research products, according to its own published notice. Whichever supplier you use next, check for a third-party report per product, a key that lets you confirm it with the laboratory, measured net content, and a plain statement of what is not tested.

Ouralus is not affiliated with Science.bio and does not sell its products.

What happened

Its homepage showed the store on 7 January 2026 and a permanent-closure notice by 8 February 2026, per Internet Archive captures; the notice is still live on its own domain. The notice reads:

“After careful consideration, Science.bio has made the decision to permanently close and discontinue the sale of research products.”

Sources, checked 5 November 2026:

This page reports the vendor's own statement and nothing more. It does not speculate about reasons, and it says nothing about the vendor's products.

What to check in a replacement supplier, and where Ouralus stands

These checks apply to any supplier, including us. Each Ouralus line is a fact you can verify on this site or with the testing laboratory.

  1. A third-party report for each product, not one report for the catalogueA report describes one sample from one lot. Ask which product and which lot each report covers.Ouralus19 of 23 listed research products carry a published third-party report; the rest claim no purity figure until their own report is published.
  2. Reports you can confirm with the laboratory, not only with the sellerA verify key or report number lets you fetch the report from the lab directly, so you are not relying on the seller's copy.Ouralus19 of 19 published reports show a verify key you can enter at janoshik.com/verify.
  3. The laboratory and task number named on the reportAn unnamed lab cannot be checked. A task number ties the document to one analysis.OuralusReports name the laboratory (Janoshik) and the task number, and both are printed on each certificate page.
  4. Net content measured, not only purityPurity says what fraction of the material is the target compound; net content says how much material is in the vial. They answer different questions.Ouralus19 of 19 published reports state an assayed net content in mg.
  5. A plain statement of what is not testedA supplier should say which analyses it does not run, so an absence is never read as a pass.OuralusWe report assayed purity and net content only, and state that we do not run heavy-metal, microbial, endotoxin, or sterility analysis.
  6. Research-use-only labelling and no use guidanceResearch reagents are sold for laboratory use; a seller giving use instructions is outside that category.OuralusEvery product page carries the notice "For laboratory research use only. Not for human consumption."
  7. Stated dispatch and returns termsTerms that are written down can be held to.OuralusOrders placed before 11am Central on a business day dispatch the same day; damaged, incorrect or defective orders reported with a photo within 7 days of delivery are reshipped. See the shipping and returns pages.
  8. A reachable contactYou should be able to ask about a lot before you order and once it arrives.OuralusQuestions go to support@ouralus.com.
